Who does Baal Dan help?

Baal Dan provides grants to help children in need in India, specifically:
- Children under the age of 14
- Street/slum children
- Orphans
- Children from red light areas
- Children with special needs
- Impoverished children

These grants can be in the form of direct donations, goods/supplies in kind, or school fees.

Baal Dan Model

Baal Dan raises money in the US, and then provides grants to projects in India. Grants are allocated to orphanages, schools, NGO's, charities and grassroots projects in India that have been audited by Baal Dan and fulfill certain requirements, such as having FCRA status which means that the project is registered in India and has permission to receive foreign funds.

Baal Dan works with these projects to determine how best to help the children with things they might need on an annual basis. Grants can be one-time only, or ongoing depending on Baal Dan's yearly audit.

Baal Dan keeps operational overhead extremely low by leveraging the resources of the grassroots project and staff, and utilizing volunteers in the US and India.

Baal Dan's Grant Requirements

- Project must be registered in India, or run by an Indian resident.
- Project must care for impoverished children under the age of 14 that are orphans, street children, very poor, or from red light areas.
- In most cases, the project must have FCRA status.
- Project must allow unrestricted access.

If you are an Indian-based project for children in need that you think meets the criteria listed above, please complete this grant application form.
