volunteer
Baal Dan Charities keeps administration costs as low as possible by relying on volunteers to help.
We have small chapters in a few key cities, and the mission of the chapters is to strengthen our fundraising efforts so that we can help more children in need.
Please email the Chapter Presidents below to become a volunteer for fundraising and development.

School Volunteer Program & Service Activities
Baal Dan is honored to have children in the US support impoverished children in India. Children at Hockaday School, Greenwood Hills Elementary School and the Bharat Youth Group of New Jersey have collectively raised over $10,000 to support Baal Dan. You can support Baal Dan by starting a Pennies for Baal Dan campaign or doing a fundraiser at your school. Please no donations in kind.*
Volunteer in India
Currently, Baal Dan does not have the resources or staff in India to manage a volunteer program in India. In addition, Baal Dan cannot refer or give out information for specific orphanages for the safety and wellbeing of the children and most of orphanages we work with do not offer volunteer programs.
If you would visit India to volunteer at an orphanage, there are many programs and information resources you can find online. These links below are intended as a source of information and inspiration and copyright is with the authors and original publishers.

*DONATIONS IN KIND
Baal Dan USA does not accept donations in kind of children's clothing, toys or other goods. The reason is simple. We try to buy 100% of supplies in India because they are usually less expensive, and we can support the local economy there. In addition, shipping goods to India is costly and if our US team takes goods to India, we could be charged duty. We thank you for your understanding of this policy.
